Located just 14 miles north of London, Cheshunt naturally lends itself to being a very important and popular commuter town, with the A10 and M25 both running very close by.

Lying on the River Lea and Lee Navigation, Cheshunt contains a part of the Lee Valley Park, including much of the River Lee Country Park.

The town is fast growing popular with many wanting to move there, due to a number of redevelopment projects which will transform the area, including the town centre development near Brookfield.

The development is said to cost in excess of £400m to build brand new retail and leisure spaces aimed at transforming Cheshunt.

A few famous faces came from Cheshunt, most notably Victoria Beckham and Sir Cliff Richard. Ex-professional footballer Ryan Mason and international boxing champion Billy-Joe Saunders also came from the area.

Queen Elizabeth I was said to have lived in Cheshunt in the 1500’s during her younger years.

Athlete Laura Trott also came from Cheshunt, which led to two of the town’s postboxes being painted gold to celebrate her 2012 Olympic Gold success. They can be found on the High Street just outside Simmons and on Elm Drive.

The fountain which sits in the middle of a roundabout in the Old Pond town centre is considered one of the most iconic parts of Cheshunt.

There’s been frequent incidences where locals decided to put washing up liquid in the fountain, causing the fountain to transform into a giant bubble bath!
