Living in Mildenhall
As a military base with nearby RAF Lakenheath many of the residents are ‘base’ or military families who hold the area in high esteem and bring the local community together for events.
There is also a large American presence in the town as a result of the aforementioned military bases and with this a unique local culture where you can even pay for a haircut at your local barbers in dollars!
Like many picturesque Suffolk villages there are a host of activities to get involved with including the West Stow Country Park and the Anglo-Saxon Village in Bury St Edmunds which has a shop cafe, children’s play area, nature trail and picnic area.
Mildenhall Stadium is a unique venue which hosts a short oval racing shaleway home to stockcar and banger racing as well as the Mildenhall Fen Tigers Speedway Team. There is a bar and restaurant and the stadium caters for group bookings and parties.
