    Why Move to Sheringham

A traditional seaside town with an award-winning family friendly beach, Sheringham sits on the coast within the county of Norfolk.

Once conquered by the Vikings, the town celebrates its Scandinavian heritage with an annual Viking Festival held each winter.

With a modest population of approximately 7500, the town prides itself on its local community spirit and it stocked full of headline attractions including a heritage steam railway, a good variety of shops selling locally grown organic produce and fantastic coastal and countryside walks.

For those looking to reside in the countryside but don’t want to compromise on their career, the town offers easy access to the Norfolk capital of Norwich via a mainline train journey of an hour and 27 minutes.

The town is located close to some other well-known seaside resorts such as Cromer, Overstrand and Mundesley for more leisurely pursuits. Highlights include:

Stunning long stretches of award-winning Blue Flag Beaches.

Working transport links to other large cities and areas.

Some very competitively priced properties, many with sea views.

Several Michelin starred restaurants nearby including Morston Hall and Rocky Bottoms Restaurant.

A range of carnivals and festivals all year round including the famous Crab & Lobster Festival and Sheringham Carnival.

There is also the Woodfields School, a special, state funded junior and senior school for children with disabilities from the ages of 3-19.

In January 2019, Ofsted reported that it was an “outstanding school with a very supportive and caring ethos provided by highly skilled staff which is successfully combined with just the right level of challenge at the right point in time for each pupil”.

There is one primary school serving the local area which feeds into the High School. Sheringham Community Primary has been rated as a ‘good’ school by Ofsted, the education regulator.

Situated on the stunning Norfolk coastline one of the town’s most alluring features is it’s award winning Blue Flag beach. It is a stony beach but at low tide an expanse of sand and rock pools is revealed for children to play and there are a range of cafes and an amusement arcade too.

In the town centre you’ll find The Little Theatre, a venue hosting a varied mix of drama, cinema, music, live screenings and a welcoming Hub café.
