    Why Move to Epping?

Have you always dreamed of the detached house with the white picket fence and uncrowded schools just a hop and skip away down a cobbled country road? If so, you might be having visions of Epping.

Epping is a thriving market town with a strong sense of community and a modest population of around 12,000.

Set in the leafy confines of the Epping Forest district at the distant end of the Underground central line, Epping showcases the best of both worlds.

On the one hand you have London’s largest area of open spaces, full of green fields that are perfect for outdoor activities and long weekend walks.

At the same time you’ve also good fantastic transport links with an underground station in zone six and a handful of other nearby stations on the Metropolitan line.

Quite a few famous faces have graced the town at one time or another, including singer Rod Stewart, actress Sheridan Smith, TV presenter Ben Shephard and Britain’s most famous war time prime minister and former MP, Winston Churchill.

    Some main highlights include:

Gateway between the capital and the countryside – for centuries Epping was a busy coaching town and continues that tradition today with excellent connections to the capital

Of course one of the standout attractions of the Epping Forest District is the forest itself. Designated as ‘Green Belt’ it incorporates two historic forests – Epping Forest and Hainault Forest.

Once reserved for royal hunting, these ancient woodlands offer a variety of settings and wildlife. They are perfect for casual walks, with cycle paths and a boating lake for those wanting to relax in the company of nature.
