    Why Move to Frinton-on-Sea?

Envisioned as a secluded seaside resort by Sir Richard Cooper, the ‘Frinton gates’ came to symbolise the status divide in the town.

Those residing ‘inside the gates’ are perceived as being more affluent and well off than others.

Despite a three-year-long campaign against their removal, the iconic railway’s gates were taken down by Network Rail in 2009, thus signalling large-scale changes to this town’s conservative image. The first pub opened, and shorts are now permitted on the golf course.

Most of Frinton’s old hotels are now flats, and an influx of younger people have purchased many of the town’s mid-century properties.

This newfound youthful energy has been quick to embrace the more traditional aspects of the ‘great British seaside’. They have helped galvanise interest in neighbouring, Walton-on-the-Naze.

The town of Frinton-on-Sea has retained the non-commercialised aspects of its past. And the town boasts a strong sense of community with thriving local boutiques and old-style tea rooms.

With attractive seafront gardens and secluded beaches, Frinton has also proven a hit with young families moving to the area.

Those looking to commute can reach nearby Colchester in half an hour. Rail links to London Liverpool Street take around an hour and a half.
