Transport Links

Greenwich has access to great travel connections and by varied means.

The excellent London bus route provides regular services to most districts in the area such as Peckham, Thamesmead, Woolwich, Lewisham, and central London to name a few.

There is also a number of river boat services running from Greenwich Pier. The Thames commuter catamaran service is a unique way to get to work. Several services are in operation including the Greenwich to Embankment, via Tower Millennium Pier, Canary Wharf and on to the O2 and Woolwich Arsenal Pier.

As everyone knows, getting around London by car can be a disaster and take forever, so most choose to use the underground to navigate the city.  North Greenwich station connects with the Jubilee Line services to Stanmore and Stratford.

National rail services run from Greenwich and Maze Hill stations with Southeastern services to London Cannon Street, Dartford, Barnehurst and Crayford as well as Thameslink services to Luton via London Blackfriars and to Rainham.

London Gatwick is around 40 miles from Greenwich via the M25 and Heathrow is a little further, 66 miles.

The spectacular roof terrace is the best spot to eat in Greenwich. A fab venue.
• Set in a formal, marble-and-wood setting the Michelin Starred Club Gascon is perfect for a special occasion. Serving contemporary French restaurant cooking inspired by the cuisine of southwest France.  Its 3 AA rosettes and a Michelin star were first awarded in 2002, and which it has managed to retain every year since.

Another bonus of starting your search for a decent restaurant with Tripadvisor is that they often have great deals if you book a table through them, sometimes you can save as much as 50%!!

Schools
